    Issue

The Processing/Data Indicator flashes and the message <Received in Memory.> appears on the display.

    Cause and Solution

    Print the received documents.
In general, received documents are printed right after reception. If there is any error occurs during reception, received documents are stored in memory and the message <Received in memory.> appears on the display.
After the error is recovered, received documents stored in memory is printed automatically. Check the message and resolve the error.

    NOTE
If <Memory Lock Settings> in <Communications Settings> in <System Management Set.> of the <Additional Func.> menu is set to <On>, <Received in Memory RX Inbox.> appears on the display. In this case, set <Memory Lock Settings> to <Off> to print all the received documents stored in memory.

Does the message <There is none of the following paper: xxx:XXX> appear on the display?
If the messages <Received in memory.> and <There is none of the following paper: xxx:XXX> (xxx stands for the paper feeding area and XXX stands for the paper size set beforehand) appear alternately, load specified size of paper in the drawer or stack bypass tray.

    1. For instructions on how to load paper in the drawer, see "Loading Paper into the Paper Drawers."
    2. For instructions on how to load paper in the stack bypass tray, see "Loading Paper in the Stack Bypass Tray."

Does the message <Set the correct paper.> appear on the display?
If the size of paper loaded in the drawer or stack bypass tray differs from that specified in the Additional Functions menu, the message <Set the correct paper.> appears on the display.

    1. Load the specified size of paper or specify the paper size in <Drawer 1>, <Drawer 2>*, or <Stack Bypass Paper (Std.)> of <Paper Settings>.

For instructions on how to set the paper size and type, see "If the Message <Set the correct paper.> Appears."

Does the message <Replace the toner cartridge.> appear on the display?
    1. If the messages <Received in memory.> and <Replace the toner cartridge (XXX)> (XXX stands for the color of the toner) appear alternately, replace the toner cartridge of the specified color. For instructions on how to replace a toner cartridge, see "Replacing the Toner Cartridges"

    2. If you do not have a new toner cartridge, set <Toner Out Continuous Print> in <RX Settings> in <Common Settings> in <Communications Settings> of the <Additional Func.> menu to <On> to continue printing the received document.

    IMPORTANT
When <Toner Out Continuous Print> is set to <On>, the printed documents may be light or blurred because of lack of toner. The data is erased when the documents are printed out, so you cannot print the same documents again.

    Does a paper jam occur?
If the messages <Received in memory.> and <The paper has jammed.> or <Remove the jammed paper from...> appear alternately, a paper jam occurs.

Clear the paper jam. For instructions on how to clear paper jams, see the following:

"If the Message <Remove the jammed paper from inside the cover of the feeder.> Appears"
"If the Message <Remove the paper from the output tray.> Appears"
"If the Message <Remove the jammed paper from the inside the internal cover.> Appears"
"If the Message <Remove the jammed paper from the stack bypass tray.> Appears"
"If the Message <Remove the jammed paper from drawer 1.> Appears"
"If the Message <Remove the jammed paper from drawer 2.> Appears"
"If the Message <Remove the jammed paper from inside the front cover.> Appears"
"If the Message <Close the fixing cover and return the scanner unit.> Appears"
"If the Message <Remove the jammed paper from inside the back cover.> Appears"

When the jam is cleared, the stored document will be printed.
