Print the nozzle check pattern to check the ink output.
If the nozzle check pattern does not print out properly, ensure that there is enough ink.
If there is plenty of ink and the printer does not print, clean the Print Head then print the nozzle check pattern to ensure ink is ejected properly.
If the problem is not resolved after performing Print Head Cleaning twice, carry out the Print Head Deep Cleaning.
If the problem is not resolved after performing Print Head Deep Cleaning, turn off the printer then perform Print Head Deep Cleaning again 24 hours later.
If the problem still persists, the Print Head may be damaged. Contact a Canon service representative.
Ensure that the setting of the printer matches the type of the paper selected.
Printing with the wrong media type setting may reduce the print quality.
Increase the print quality setting in the printer driver settings.
When you attempt to print especially on coated paper (high-quality paper), increase the Print Quality setting in the printer driver settings to produce no noticeable vertical white stripes.
1. Open the printer properties dialog box.
2. On the Main tab, click High for the Print Quality setting.

The Print dialog box can usually be opened by selecting Print from the File menu in your application program.
2. Select Quality & Media from the pop-up menu and then click Detailed Setting.
3. Drag the Print Quality slider bar to the Fine end.
