Cannot scan film

    Issue

    You do not know how to set a film on the scanner.
    You do not know how to adjust the driver's settings when scanning film.
    Computer stops operating during scanning.

    Cause and Solution

    The cable of the film adapter unit is disconnected.
    Reconnect the cable of the film adapter unit to the FAU cable on the scanner.

    The film adapter unit is not in position.
    Place the film adapter glass on the document glass correctly.

    Films can be scanned with LiDE 600F
    This scanner can scan 35 mm film strips (6 frames at a time). Mounted films are not supported.

    [Executes calibration.] is displayed when trying to scan
    Perform calibration and see if it solve the problem.

    Calibration is automatically performed for the first film scan or after a certain amount of scan.

    The document cover is not closed.
    Close the document cover properly.

    ScanGear is not set for scanning film.
    Select the type of film in [Select Source] of ScanGear's Simple Mode or Advanced Mode.

    To scan films into an application program, you can start ScanGear CS from within the program.
    In the Simple Mode, there are only a few simple procedures.

    To scan films into an application program, you can start ScanGear CS from within the program.
    In the Advanced Mode, you can change the resolution and use various functions to scan, including color correction and filters.

    CanoScan Toolbox is not set for scanning film.
    Solution 1: Select your scanner and click [OK] in [Settings] window of CanoScan Toolbox.
    Solution 2: Select [Film] or [Auto mode] in [Select Source] in each button's settings window.
