    Caution:
Firmware Version 1.0.8.1.00 is only for EOS C100 cameras without the Dual Pixel CMOS AF Feature Upgrade. If the EOS C100 camera has had the DAF Feature Upgrade applied, please download Firmware Version 2.0.8.1.00.

Firmware Version 1.0.8.1.00 is for updating EOS C100 cameras with Firmware Version 1.0.0.1.00 - 1.0.7.1.00. If your camera's firmware is already version 1.0.8.1.00, it is not necessary to update the firmware. Once the camera is updated to the latest firmware version, it cannot be restored to a previous version.

    Preparations for a firmware update:
After the Firmware update has been performed, the camera's menu settings and Custom Picture settings will be reset. It is recommended that users save their menu and Custom Picture settings as settings data to an SD card, separate from the one that will be used to carry out the update, before starting update operations. This saved data can be loaded into the camera and the settings can be changed after the update has been completed. For further information on this, please refer to the section in the camera's user manual titled Saving and Loading Camera Settings.

The downloaded firmware folder contains the firmware (File Name: VIF7.FIM, File Size: 35,066,904 bytes) and a procedure manual for updating the firmware (a PDF file in five languages: Japanese, English, French, Spanish and Simplified Chinese). Please check the firmware update procedure manual carefully before starting update operations.

The following items are required to perform this firmware update:
    1. A Cinema EOS C100 camera body
    2. A computer (OS: Windows 10, Windows 8.1, Windows 8, Windows 7 SP1)
    3. A 64 MB or higher-capacity SD/SDHC/SDXC memory card (both commercially available)
    4. An SD card reader-writer (commercially available) or an SD card slot on the computer
    5. A fully-charged, dedicated battery pack for the camera
    6. The dedicated compact power adapter bundled with the camera
    7. The firmware (the file downloaded from the Canon Web site)

    Changes in Firmware Version 1.0.5.1.00:
    1. Enables peripheral illumination correction for the following lenses:
    EF lenses:
    EF 16-35mm f/4L IS USM
    EF-S 10-18mm f/4-5.6 IS STM
EF 400mm f/4L DO IS USM

    2. When one of the following EF lenses is attached and power is turned off, the lens automatically retracts to its minimum length:
    EF 40mm f/2.8 STM
    EF-S 24mm f/2.8 STM
    EF 50mm f/1.8 STM

    Changes in Firmware Version 1.0.4.1.00:
    1. Compatibility with the Canon RC-V100 Remote Controller has been added.
    2. Peripheral illumination correction data has been added for the [CN-E35mm T1.5 L F] EF Cinema lens and the [EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS STM] EF lens.
    3. Fixes a phenomenon in which the EF Cinema lens' F number was incorrectly displayed.

    Changes in Firmware Version 1.0.3.1.00:
    1. A Continuous Recording function* has been added allowing for nonstop recording. At the same time the camera creates IN and OUT points in the footage every time the START/STOP button is pressed.
*At this time, this function is compatible with "EDIUS Pro 7" software which is distributed by Grass Valley.
    Note:
If the clips recorded using the Continuous Recording function will be saved using the bundled [Data Import Utility (For Windows)] software, please be sure to update the software to the [Data Import Utility Ver.2.1(for Windows)] which can be downloaded from the Pixela website.
    www.pixela.co.jp/oem/canon/e/index_biz.html (English language site)
    www.pixela.co.jp/oem/canon/j/index_biz.html (Japanese language site)

    Changes in Firmware Version 1.0.2.1.00:
    1. ISO up to 80,000 has been added. This raises the current maximum ISO sensitivity from ISO 20,000 to ISO 80,000. With this change, color footage can be taken of a subject in an environment that is so dark that it would have been highly difficult to identify the position of the subject.
    2. Peripheral illumination correction for EF Cinema Lenses has been made possible. Peripheral Illumination Correction Data corrects insufficiencies in peripheral illumination caused by the lens' optical characteristics when one of the seven (7) Canon Cinema Lenses (EF-mount) are attached.
    3. It has become newly possible to correct insufficiencies in peripheral illumination caused by the lens' optical characteristics when one of the additional 11 EF Lenses is attached.
    4. Use of the function included in Version 1.0.1.1.00 which enables continuous focusing and correct aperture on a subject that is in the middle of the screen with the [EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM] lens has been extended to include the [EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM] lens..
    5. Support has been added for a Key Lock setting, which disables all key inputs, including the Recording Start/Stop Button.
    6. It is now possible to input the same commands that are normally input using the joystick when the grip is removed and the joystick not attached through the assignment of Up, Down, Left, Right and SET functions to the Assign Button.
    7. Movement of the position of a magnified image displayed on the LCD monitor has been made possible.

    Changes in Firmware Version 1.0.1.1.00:
    1. Focus can now be continuously held on the subject when the exchangeable lens [EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM] is attached and the focus mode switch is set to AF. In addition, the iris can now stay continuously set.
    2. The polarity balance of the XLR terminal has been modified to improve compatibility with external audio devices. The pin configuration has been modified to be consistent with the Instruction Manual. Before the Firmware update the pin configuration for the XLR jack was (pin1: shield, pin2: cold, pin3: hot). After the Firmware update the pin configuration for the XLR jack will be (pin1: shield, pin2: hot, pin3: cold). The XLR pin configuration meets the international AES standard recommendation. The firmware update will avoid the scenario where the unit if used in combination with a device of differing polarity of the XLR terminals, would result in weakened sound levels due to a reversal of the phase relationship.
