External microphones that can be used with the EOS REBEL T5/EOS 1200D
Solution
With your camera, an external microphone cannot be used. Sound will be recorded by the built-in monaural microphone.

In the menu displayed on the screen, select the [ 
] tab and set [Sound recording] to [Disable] to shoot movies without recording sound.
