    Cause and Solution

    Appropriate paper is not being used.
    Replace with paper that meets printing specifications. [Usable Paper]

    Paper is too moist or too dry.
    Replace the paper with new paper in an unopened package.

    The inside of the printer is dirty.
    Clean the inside of the printer. [Cleaning the Inside of the Printer]

    The toner cartridge has run out of toner.
    Check the status of the toner cartridges, and then replace the toner cartridge that is almost empty with a new one.

    Toner in the toner cartridge is not distributed evenly.
    Shake the toner cartridge to evenly distribute the toner inside the cartridge.

    The drum in any of the toner cartridges has deteriorated or is damaged, or a problem has occurred in the fixing unit.

    If Solution 1 does not solve the problem, replace toner cartridges or fixing unit.

    When [Paper Type] is set to [Plain Paper] or [Plain Paper L], printing may be uneven.
    Perform the following procedure in the printer driver.
    1. Display the [Finishing] sheet.
    2. Click [Advanced Settings].
    3. Set [Special Print Mode] to [Special Settings H7].
    Normally, use the printer with [Special Print Mode] set to [Off]. Specify [Special Settings H7] only if the described problems occur.
    IMPORTANT
    Precautions when specifying [Special Settings H7]
    • Toner fixation may deteriorate. In this case, do not specify [Special Settings H7].

    Printing may be uneven regardless of the setting for [Paper Type].
    Perform the following procedure in the printer driver.
    1. Display the [Finishing] sheet.
    2. Click [Advanced Settings].
    3. Set [Special Print Mode] to [Special Settings J2].
    Normally, use the printer with [Special Print Mode] set to [Off]. Specify [Special Settings J2] only if the described problems occur.
    IMPORTANT
    Precautions when specifying [Special Settings J2]
    • Print quality may deteriorate. In this case, do not specify [Special Settings J2].

    When printing images, their density may decrease partly, resulting in print unevenness.
    Perform the following procedure in the printer driver.
    1. Display the [Finishing] sheet.
    2. Click [Advanced Settings].
    3. Set [Special Print Mode] to [Special Settings C7].
    Normally, use the printer with [Special Print Mode] set to [Off]. Specify [Special Settings C7] only if the described problems occur.
    IMPORTANT
    Precautions when specifying [Special Settings C7]
    • Printing may not be performed with an appropriate toner density. In this case, do not specify [Special Settings C7].
