Solution
In the [Auto] (
,
) mode, the camera automatically selects the optimal setting for the scene by determining the subject and shooting conditions.
Therefore, if the distance between the subject and the camera is shortened, the camera automatically switches the mode to the Macro (
) mode.
NOTE
- In this section, [PowerShot SD1400 IS / IXUS 130] is used as an example to explain the operations. Depending on your model, the position of buttons, screen indications, and setting items may vary.
- When you point the camera toward the subject, the camera will make a slight noise as it determines the scene.
-
The icon for the determined scene will appear in the upper right of the screen.
- When the camera detects human faces, the camera displays the optimal scene icon and the frames on the faces, and focuses on the detected faces.
CAUTION
Under certain conditions, the icon that appears may not match the actual scene. Especially when there is an orange or blue colored background (a wall for example), [Sunsets] (
) or the "Including Blue Skies" icons may appear and it may not be possible to shoot with the appropriate color. If this happens, try shooting in [Program AE] (
) mode.
