Solution

Stereo sound recording is possible by connecting an external microphone equipped with a stereo mini plug (3.5mm dia.) to the camera's external microphone IN terminal. Do not connect the camera's external microphone IN terminal to anything other than an external microphone.

NOTE

The sound recording level will be adjusted automatically.
The camera's built-in microphone will also pick up camera operation noise. If you use a commercially-available external microphone, you can prevent (or reduce) these noises from being recorded.
